Melbourne’s leading cultural institutions will unite in November to showcase the best in printmaking, tapestry, craft and design
Three of Melbourne’s world-class cultural organisations – Australian Print Workshop, Australian Tapestry Workshop and Craft – will collaborate for the first time to present PRINT WEAVE MAKE, a series of three open days held over consecutive Saturdays in November.
During the open days, visitors can take tours, participate in programs, and interact with renowned artists including printmakers, weavers and craftspeople. The open days provide a unique opportunity to witness how some of the best individual artworks are created.
According to the Australian Print Workshop’s Director, Anne Virgo, “Nowhere but in Melbourne can you visit three leading cultural spaces, meet the artists they work with and get up close to their extraordinary works. PRINT WEAVE MAKE also provides the perfect opportunity to take home a handmade work by one of our artists.”
Visitors can make a day of it and explore the hip neighbourhoods of Fitzroy, Flinders Lane and South Melbourne that surround these three organisations.
PRINT WEAVE MAKE is a free event, proudly supported by Arts Victoria’s Arts Marketing Innovation Fund.
